Ubisoft E3 2014

-I dunno if it's just because it's 3 years running, but I'm starting to warm up to Aisha Tyler as an E3 host.

-Farcry 4 was pretty, confusing, pretty confusing.  Doubling down on the crazy antagonist that was Vaas from 3 was ironically the safest move they could make, here's hoping they actually do a better job following through.

-Does Just Dance's free app also come with a free fancy phone harness?

-It's odd how The Division's gameplay got split from a CG trailer.  Company politking I'm sure.  It's still looking pretty ambitious and cool, but if Watch_Dogs has taught us anything it's to temper our expectations from what Ubisoft shows us, so put me down for cautiously optimistic.

-The Crew is getting a Beta, we'll see if the extra months have been worth it.  Unfortunately at the time of writing, Ubisoft's site prep for the slam was not as well handled as Hardline, so we'll see if that gets up and running soon.

-I'm hard pressed to levy any criticism towards Unity.  It looks super pretty.  There's some new mobility on display, most obvious in how an Assassin gets down from a high spot (not just jumping into straw carts).  I only have one question:

WHY IS UBISOFT MAKING A GAME IN FRANCE WHERE ALL THE FRENCH TALK IN BRITISH ACCENTS!?!

But more dark remixes, this time it's Tears for Fears.  Spiff.

-Exercise is boring.  But Shape Up actually looks kinda neat, I'm always down to see more usages of cameras on our current gen systems.

-Another UbiArt engine game that also looks gorgeous,  Valiant Hearts looks amazing.  How we turn this into a game though is currently beyond me.

-And finally we have Rainbow Six on the return with "The Siege."  Gameplay looks a little too good, probably more of a target render with that structure teardown, but we'll see we'll see.

Overall a pretty strong showing for a company that's had notoriously lackluster showings last year.  Patrick Klepek sums it up for me

"I hope you're telling the truth."
