Mortal Kombat X Review

Prepare For Kombat!
Mortal Kombat X is the highly anticipated fighting game sequel from developer Neatherrealm studios. Formerly Midway games, creative director Ed Boon has been heading the Mortal Kombat games since the very beginning. There are a few things that come to mind when someone thinks of a Mortal Kombat game: iconic characters, blood and gore, and a gripping story. Mortal Kombat X is the next step for Neatherrealm studios. Their goals this time around was to create a deeper fighting game experience while giving players incentive to come back every day for rewards and online battles, and lastly to write a story about passing the torch to the next generation. Did they succeed? Mostly yes, but it's where it counts.

VGR 5.11

Mankind is getting divided in the newly announced Deus Ex,  Mortal Kombat's mobile app is good at grinding away a few minutes, fans get jobs with art and mods, and does anyone remember OnLive?  'Cause that's dead apparently.

VGR 5.09

What's the real deal going on with Konami and Kojima?  Can we have any more HD collections announced?  Will Broken Age ever come out?  Will a new Toejam and Earl be good?  What kind of crazy things can you mod it Cities: Skylines?  We ponder all these questions.

Also, Bloodborne.

Trey takes over the drivers seat for this season as we (Kevin, Ryan and Izzy) start to dive into holiday news.  Games with sharks are fun, and everybody starts geeking out about Fallout.  We all managed to get in our fair share of gaming as well, thanks in large part to holiday sales.  News and Music as always, check it out.

MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!

After the success of the rebooted Mortal Kombat 9, titled Mortal Kombat, it was no surprise that the series would continue anew with creative director Ed Boon at the helm of NetherRealm studios. After the success of Mortal Kombat, NetherRealm decided to tackle the D.C. License again with Injustice: Gods Among Us. Now they are shifting their focus back to Mortal Kombat with the announcement of Mortal Kombat X. According to IGN, some footage from the cg trailer indicates some new game play mechanics that might appear in the sequel. The brutal x-ray attacks from nine will likely make a return along with: environmental hazards, weapon switching, possibly the return of the run button and the oh so gruesome fatalities. After sinking many hours into Mortal Kombat 9 and Injustice, I cannot wait to see what NetherRealm has in store for E3 this year.

VGR - Fighting Show

Time to show me yo moves and get in some sonic booms as we check out the best music from fighting games, while we contemplate that eternal question:  is there anything that Guile's theme doesn't go with?
