The Friday Wrap-Up 6/12/2015

It's our last Friday before E3 proper for 2015, and it's hard not to be excited with some of the potential announcements on deck.  More so than past years, it seems like a lot of companies are getting in front of the press conference proper in order to get better exposure before the hype machine goes into full swing.  Here are some of the best Pre-3 trailers shown so far, along with some other nifty articles and videos worth a read.

Shadow Warrior 2

By most metrics, Flying Wild Hog and Devolver managed to take a Duke Nukem 3D clone and spin it off into a respectable modern take in it's own right.  Getting a chance to mix up some sword fighting with some friends sounds tantalizing to say the least.

Hollowpoint

Cyberpunk seems incredibly in right now, y'know with stuff like Shadowrun's recent revival and 2077 in the far-flung future.  Paradox and Ruffian are carving out their own niche of gameplay style with something that looks quite evocative of Shadow Complex or CounterSpy.  I'm curious to see how co-op will work with this.

Oculus Touch Reveal

Probably about as reasonable as you can get for a first iteration of VR controllers.  It looks like it won't have much of a problem replicating most modern controller settings, but I can't help be curious about finer points such as ergonomics, weight, and charging time and length.  There's really no substitute for getting your mitts personally on a gamepad to try it out, so time will tell.  Also, that toybox demo will be interesting to see.

Banner Saga 2 Intro Cinema

Doesn't look like the world is getting any better after the first one...

Destiny's 'Worst' Exotic Bounty Is Actually Brilliant

I can remember this being one of the first exotic bounties I'd managed to obtain and complete within the first few months of Destiny.  My feelings on the process at the time are somewhat less poetic that what Kirk Hamilton's, but it's an interesting perspective for sure.  In general he has some good advice for PVP that is worth taking to heart, overpowered handcannon notwithstanding.

Hidden History: Fallout's Pre-War Products

Shoddycast has been doing some stellar trivia and story series based around video games of all kinds, but they've got a soft spot for doing Fallout trivia in particular.  Perfect time to get up to speed before the next hype train on 4.

Racing for Rupees

And in final news: Link is a jerk
